Mist [Unlimited] Chapter 77: One Day

Mist: Chapter 77

One Day

A long ten seconds of silence.

The few who had stumbled upon this strange situation were so scared they wanted to sneak out along the wall.

But there’s always someone who’s clueless. The naive Tang Le, in this moment, still couldn’t help but ask Ji Yushi, “Consultant Ji… you really have three boyfriends?”

Everyone: “!!!”

How could he just ask that so directly?!

Tang Le’s question was hard to even utter, but seeing him ask, Duan Wen couldn’t resist either, “Three boyfriends who can turn into one?”

Zhou Mingxuan: “Three turning into one, isn’t that just Consultant Ji’s cat?”

Tang Qi: “No, I remember Consultant Ji’s boyfriend being some kind of cleaning master.”

Tang Le: “I remember, a desktop cleaning master!!”

Li Chun: “Damn, it’s a cat! Cats are basically professional desktop cleaners! They want to knock everything down!”

Everyone: “…”

A cat?!

Looking at everyone, Song Qinglan realized he wasn’t the only fool in the team.

His temples throbbed, and this realization didn’t bring him any comfort. In Ji Yushi’s eyes, they probably looked like a team of fools.

Ji Yushi, with his mysterious love life, had become the center of everyone’s attention.

He remained calm, with no visible emotion on his face, standing there as if this situation didn’t embarrass him at all.

But everyone noticed that his ears had betrayed him.

His earlobes were bright red, and the flush had spread down his neck, creating a stark contrast with his composed expression.

The usually cool and composed Consultant Ji was more flustered inside than ever before.

Li Chun asked the question on everyone’s mind: “So, Consultant Ji, do you actually have a boyfriend or not?!”

“I’m going to rest now.”

Ji Yushi didn’t answer the question, instead repeating the reason he had wanted to escape earlier.

“Consultant Ji?!”

“Don’t go!!”

Ji Yushi didn’t look at Song Qinglan’s expression or think about what Song Qinglan was about to say earlier. He just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

Song Qinglan’s expression grew darker, as black as the bottom of a pot.

Just as Ji Yushi was about to walk out the door, Song Qinglan caught up to him, and without thinking, stretched out his long arm and grabbed Ji Yushi’s shoulder in front of everyone: “Wait.”

“I haven’t finished what I wanted to say.” Song Qinglan huffed, almost provocatively, “Did you think that just because there are more people here, I wouldn’t dare ask?”

Ji Yushi: “…”

Ji Yushi: “Isn’t this a bit inappropriate?”

Everyone: “It’s totally appropriate! Ask!! Go ahead, ask!!”

Song Qinglan had already cursed these fools in his mind a hundred times, but he knew he would have to tell them sooner or later.

“Since everyone’s here, I might as well not bother notifying each of you individually.” His tone shifted, becoming more serious, “Consultant Ji, I laid the groundwork earlier just to ask—could you consider me?”

Some of the people in the training room, like Duan Wen, didn’t understand what he meant. Others, like Zhou Mingxuan, who had figured it out, held their breath, eagerly watching Ji Yushi.

While their thoughts weren’t aligned, everyone shared a common sentiment: enjoying the spectacle.

They all thought: He actually got to finish!

There’s more to this!

Ji Yushi stiffened, unsure if he was feigning ignorance or genuinely confused, but he naturally asked, “What… do you mean by consider you?”

Everyone looked at Song Qinglan, their eyes shining.

Ignoring them, Song Qinglan said, “A one-on-one relationship, just the two of us. Consider me.”

Ji Yushi: “…”

Gritting his teeth, Song Qinglan clarified, “Consider being in a relationship with me.”

Ji Yushi asked, “Why? Aren’t you straight?”

“You hit the nail on the head. I’m probably deeply closeted.”

“Ever since I met you, I haven’t been able to stay straight.”

Song Qinglan didn’t care if he would be laughed at or what others would say. He cut straight to the chase: “I… I wanted to tell you in the bubble world that I don’t want to be just your friend, or just your captain. I want to openly take care of you, so you don’t dare run off, so you don’t carry everything on your own anymore. I want to be with you, to hold you, to—”

His words were rough, increasingly explicit, making even the onlookers want to scream.

By this point, Ji Yushi’s entire face had turned red.

Realizing that what he was about to say next might be inappropriate, Song Qinglan paused. His already intense expression grew sharper.

He earnestly confessed, “Ji Yushi, I like you.”

“Ahhhhh!”

“Captain Song is awesome!!!”

“Ahhhhh!!!”

The two of them stood in the middle of their teammates, looking like they were in the middle of a proposal.

What should have been a heartfelt confession was interrupted, and even Song Qinglan’s face was slightly flushed as he stared intently at the back of Ji Yushi’s neck.

Everyone was still wearing their black combat uniforms, not having had a chance to change, and Ji Yushi had only just returned. The black uniform made the back of Ji Yushi’s neck, which was slender and fair, visibly red. His whole body was stiff, his shoulders trembling slightly, and Song Qinglan noticed every subtle change.

Ji Yushi’s restraint and calmness kept him from reacting immediately.

Ha sa la mu.

I like you.

Song Qinglan didn’t know if Li Chun had gotten it wrong or not.

At this moment, he only wanted to confirm one thing, so he asked in a deep voice, “I’m bent as a coil now. Can I be your boyfriend?”

“Say yes, say yes!”

“Damn it, just say yes already!!”

“Consultant Ji, hurry up and answer!!”

Ji Yushi turned around and said, “I’ll think about it.”

Ji Yushi was known to hold grudges and be prideful, so Song Qinglan hadn’t expected an immediate answer.

This response was within his expectations, but he still had to press, so Song Qinglan immediately asked, “How long will you think about it? There’s a line, and there are three ahead of me. You should at least give me a chance.”

Ji Yushi: “…”

“Consultant Ji, don’t think about it anymore!!”

“Don’t let this opportunity go to waste! Let’s settle this today!”

“Captain Song is still a virgin!”

“A genuine, unspoiled one! You won’t regret it!”

Song Qinglan’s gaze grew cold, “Get out, all of you.”

Everyone seemed to wake up from a dream. At their age, being inexperienced, didn’t Captain Song care about his dignity?!

They quickly scrambled to leave the training room.

Zhou Mingxuan gave each of the nosy team members a kick in the rear, “Go on! Give them some space, will you?”

Li Chun complained, “Old Zhou, whose side are you on? Weren’t you the one who slipped earlier?”

Zhou Mingxuan felt a chill down his spine and muttered, “Shut up and move!”

Reluctant to leave, they pushed and shoved each other out of the room.

The noisy training room was quiet again, with only two people remaining.

“Virgin?” Ji Yushi looked up at Song Qinglan, his eyes seemingly brimming with clear water. “A virgin who dares to imagine a foursome. Captain Song, your imagination is impressive.”

Song Qinglan: “…”

Ji Yushi had probably held this grudge for a long time, otherwise, why would he always take such wicked pleasure in misleading Song Qinglan and watching him embarrass himself?

But then again, maybe he deserved it?

After all, Song Qinglan had initially been prejudiced against Ji Yushi.

Song Qinglan took a step closer, “So you did it on purpose.”

Even though it wasn’t their first time being alone, the atmosphere was more charged with ambiguity than ever before.

Ji Yushi, feeling the heat of Song Qinglan’s gaze, couldn’t get the blush off his face. He tried to change the subject, “Well, I’ll think it over carefully.”

Upon hearing this, Song Qinglan raised an eyebrow, showing a slightly mischievous expression, and asked, “Will one day be enough?”

Under such an intense gaze, Ji Yushi had to look away, his eyelashes casting shadows.

His heart pounding, he replied, “Enough.”
